When will my order ship?

All of our items have their lead times listed in the product description. Designed to order items typically ship within 2-3 weeks. Our ready to ship items typically ship within 3-5 business days unless they require ring sizing.

Can I pickup my order?

Yes! You can toggle pick-up as your delivery choice at check out. We have a booking portal to schedule your pick-up only after you have received an order fulfillment email. Your order confirmation is not the fulfillment email.

Why do I have to pay for shipping?

We work really hard to make sure that your order is packaged beautifully and arrives safely- this means sending everything fully insured. If the shipping cost is prohibitive for you, and you are local to Cleveland, you can pickup your order in person.

I'm having a hard time with the ordering process, can you help?

We are always striving to make our website more user friendly and clear to use. Please reach out if you are having difficulty and we will help in any way we can, and use your feedback to improve future interactions!

Custom Jewelry Design

I'm not sure if custom is the right route for me- what do I do next?

If you’re ever unsure about starting a custom project, or if its even right for what you're looking for you can always book a 15-minute call with Liza to talk through your ideas and get a good road map for the journey ahead. If you are more of an independent study, we have some great resources on our blog, including theLMJ Flow to help you determine if custom is right for you.

What types of jewelry do you make? Do only work In bridal?

We do it all!  We specialize in celebrating and telling stories- whether its bridal or commitment, anniversaries and birthdays, graduations, milestones or just because.  This encompasses the whole spectrum of jewels as well- not just rings! We love creating necklaces and pendants, earrings and bracelets- we’ve even been known to create tie-pins, brooches and small flatware pieces.

How much does custom work cost?

Due to the rising cost of gold, we have had to raise our custom minimums. We currently only offer custom services in gold. Custom jewelry including earrings and pendants start at $3000. Simple rings start closer to $4000. Our custom engagement and commitment rings start at $6000.  The typical range for custom engagement rings is $6000-$15,000. When booking your appointment, you will provide your desired budget so that we can work collaboratively to see where your dream piece and your budget overlap perfectly. The final cost of your new piece will depend on materials chosen, complexity of the design, and current metal markets. You can read more about our pricing process + policies in our journal!

How long does the custom process typically take?

Custom projects take anywhere from 6 - 12 weeks from start to finish. Design consultation time (2-4 weeks), material sourcing (1-3 weeks), and design complexity + fabrication (3-6 weeks) are all factors in timelines.  If you are in a pinch, please get in touch about rush options.

Do I need to have a clear Idea of what I want before booking a consult?

Not at all! So long as you have an idea of budget and timeline, I can help you through determining what you like, what you don’t like, and options for the final piece. There’s no such thing as too much or too little design inspo at LMJ!

Do you work with clients not local to Cleveland?

Yes! All the time. We’ve been working remotely with folks for years- but the pandemic made us experts. When you book any of our consultation options you have the choice of in-person or virtual consults. We have honed in on the best practices for designing jewelry from afar- including stone selection, picking the perfect composition, and safe delivery!

Do you make men's jewelry too?

We sure do! We tend not to use gendered language about our pieces in general, instead opting for more descriptive words like bold, wide, heavy, substantial; vs. delicate, petite, thin, light. This way we can speak to your personal style, not how you identify, and we don't end up pigeon-holing anyone or excluding someone based on their preferences. All that to say- we love making jewelry for everyone- and we have options for all the folks for all the occasions (or lack thereof)

Can you use my heirloom materials?

Utilizing heirloom materials is done on a case-by-case basis.  LMJ currently only re-works existing gemstones. LMJ only works with diamond, diamond alternative, sapphire, ruby - or other similar hardness stones above an 8 on the Mohs hardness scale.  Gemstones are reviewed with you to determine their eligibility.  We can go over this all in our consultation.  LMJ does not work with client sourced gemstones or diamonds. LMJ is offering a gold recycling program - please inquire for more details.

Is It less expensive If we supply our own gemstones/diamonds?

It really depends on the piece - typically, yes, in that you are mitigating the cost of sourcing a stone for the project.  There are some more labor charges associated with un-setting stones (sometimes those suckers are really in there), and often times heirloom/antique stones are very wonky, so setting them can take longer as well. If you are using an heirloom diamond for one of our VOW collection and we need to change the setting for it, that incurs an extra charge to augment our existing design. So, the short answer is yes- you do save in comparison to our fully custom services, however with our VOW pieces it can be a wash or more expensive depending on the particular project.

Do you work with lab created diamonds and gemstones?

We do! We offer a myriad of sourcing options for clients depending on your personal values. We have access to lab created, antique, earth mined (of various origin, including mine to market traceable Canadian stones) and diamond alternatives like moissanite. I will go over all their merits, pros and cons, and pricing in our meetings to make sure that we land on the best option for you!

Can I come to the studio to see designs and discuss options?

Yes! When you book your custom design consult you will have the option to come to the LMJ studio to see examples in person, as well as available loose gemstones, the different colors of gold, and see where it all gets made!

If I send you a picture of an existing design can you make It for me?

At LMJ we specialize in truly bespoke design- creating one of a kind pieces that don’t already exist. If you’ve found a design you love elsewhere, I always encourage folks to follow their heart and purchase through that particular artist.

Both my partner and I are Interested In designing rings- do we each need to book an appointment?

If you are in cahoots on the designing process, we can absolutely discuss both projects together. The only time that separate appointments is necessary is if the project is at all a secret. When filling out the intake questionnaire, be sure to indicate what your budget is for each ring, or have that info prepared for our meeting.

Which consultation should I book?

We encourage anyone seeking an engagement, ceremonial or promise rings to book our Bespoke Bridal Consultation. If you have heirloom materials for an engagement ring, you will be able to list them in the intake questionnaire.  All other heirloom redesigns are encouraged to book a Bespoke Heirloom Redesign Consultation.  All other custom projects would then be booked under our Bespoke Design Consult option.

Wedding Bands

When should I start thinking about/designing my wedding band?

You should start thinking about your wedding bands no later than 3 months out from your wedding date, although it’s never too early to start ticking things off your to-do list! Starting earlier on bands allows you the time to decide on what you want and budget for your dream rings.

My wedding Is In less than three months- what do I do!?

If your wedding day is sooner than that 3-month window, you can still get LMJ wedding bands! Our VOW collection has a quicker turnaround time and can accommodate tight schedules- most designs ship or are ready for pickup within 2-3 weeks!

Do you have simple, plain gold wedding bands?

LMJ offers a ton of designed to order wedding bands from ourVOW collection. These span all styles and types- from classic wide bands and dainty gold rings to fully diamond encrusted and contour styles to fit any engagement ring.

I can't find a wedding band that fits my style or engagement ring!

Not seeing what you’re looking for? We also provide custom wedding band design services. Typical custom wedding bands start at $2500, with stone selection and complexity of design being the major factors in pricing. We can design a band to go with your existing engagement ring- whether it is an LMJ original or not!

Engagement Rings

I have no Idea where to start?

That's totally okay! Starting the process of engagement ring shopping can be very overwhelming. That's why I've dedicated a whole section of our blog to walking you through all the things to consider and ways of approaching the process! You can also always book a 15-minute call with Liza to chat through any quetsions you have.

When should I book a consultation with you?

If you have a particular proposal date in mind, we recommend starting the discovery process no later than 3 months out. This way you have plenty of time to get all your questions answered, and to design and budget for the perfect ring!

Can I bring my partner Into the design process?

It’s important to determine if your partner is going to join you on this design journey, or if you are going to surprise them fully. Don’t worry- having your partner along for the ride doesn’t kill the romance, in fact, I believe it is an amazing first page in this new chapter- remember, the proposal can remain a surprise, and takes a ton of pressure off of you knowing that they will love the ring!

I'm not sure If I want a fully custom engagement ring yet.

We have a few different ways to work with us on engagement rings. We have ready-to-ship and designed-to-order engagement rings in our VOW shop, as well as fully custom design services, including heirloom redesign. You can learn more about these different avenues on ourblog!
