Fun + Approachable + Stress Free Custom Jewelry Design

Designing and purchasing wedding jewelry can be exciting, terrifying, and totally overwhelming. The benefit of working with a jeweler one on one to design the perfect ring is that it becomes a collaboration on one of the most meaningful pieces of jewelry you'll buy.  I had the opportunity to share my perspective on working with clients to design the perfect ring at Pecha Kucha Night Cleveland in 2016.  You can view that presentation here! I find that this presentation remains so relevant to what I do.  This year alone I have had the privilege of working on over 35 bespoke engagement rings, wedding bands, and anniversary sets.

A recent wedding band made for an engagement ring I made last year! Recycled 14kt yellow gold + Five .03ct certified conflict free diamonds.

The most important aspect of my process in working with couples is that the process is easy, stress free and fun. The prospect of popping the question to your loved one or the process of wedding planning, or even the pressure of finding the perfect gift can cloud even the most exciting of projects! This is what one of my clients had to say about the process:

We commissioned Liza Michelle to create our wedding bands. Her work was perfect. She spent time with us to truly understand what we wanted. She completed the work in a timely manner and allowed us to worry about anything other than the rings. Pardon the pun, but our rings were in good hands. We felt as though a friend had created these beautiful pieces of jewelry. We highly recommend Liza Michelle. -Charlie + Anne

With every project I like to sit down and really figure out what you're looking for in the design, the meaning, and yes even the price!  I love inviting clients to my Ohio City studio, but in the event that you are out of town, video or phone meetings work just as well.  I produce sketches based on what we talk about and start the process of sourcing any special stones we may need.  Every step of the process I make sure you are heard, and your concerns addressed. I want this process to be easy and stress free.

When all the pieces and parts arrive, my favorite step begins- building the final piece! I use only 100% recycled 14kt + 18kt gold (in yellow, white or rose color) and only the most ethically sourced stones.  I often melt down my scrap and hand roll my own wire and sheet - making sure that every bit of gold and silver in my studio is recycled and not wasted.

Then.....the final reveal. Once a piece is finished it nestles in its special hardwood ring box and lands into your hands! After making the piece, this is my favorite part of the process. To see your reaction to every little detail, each piece and part you helped pick out and the hidden meaning behind every decision.
